What is the difference between adhesive and static cling film?solyxAdhesive is more of a permanent option therefore very difficult to remove once applied. Film adheres to the glass with a pressure sensitive adhesive. This makes adhesive films a bit more difficult to work with. Static-Cling is caused by a build-up of static electricity once applied to any smooth non-porous surface. Our static cling film (non-adhesive) is therefore easy to apply, easy to clean, removable and reusable! If you would like to remove the film and reuse it at a later stage you can simply to pull it off and place the linear back onto it.
Is your product DIY, if so can you explain how to apply the film? Do you have installation kits available?solyxYes, our product is DIY and in fact we encourage DIY as it is very easy to install. Installation can be broken up into 5 easy steps;
- Clean the glass surface which you will be applying the film on. A few drops of sunlight liquid in water will be sufficient, it’s important to not use any window cleaners as this could eat at the film once applied.
- Measure glass to be coated with film and roughly cut to size.
- Remove the protective liner from the back of the film; this would be the shiny part. If you are struggling to release the linear you can use a piece of scotch tape. Place a piece on each side of one corner and remove the scotch tape simultaneously, the linear will then stick to the tape. Once lifted you can just pull it off.
- Lay the film down with the adhesive or static side facing you (the side which you have removed the linear from). Make sure the surface used is dust and lint free. Must be very clean. Spray the film with a mixture of a few drops of sunlight liquid add to a 1L spray bottle.
- Position the film on the glass and squeegee out all the water from under the film. As soon as the water has left the film it will stick to the glass.
- Trim off the excess pieces of film with a sharp blade to finish it off. (Alternatively you can cut the film to the exact size before you remove the linear)
Can your films be installed on Perspex?solyxYes, most of our films can be installed onto Plexiglas or Polycarbonate sheets. Unlike glass or mirror, Plexiglas tends to shrink and expand by temperature, it may cause many small air bubbles between glass surface and film as time goes on.

If any adhesive remains on the glass it can easily be removed with a spray of soapy water and a single edge razorblade. (Blades cannot be used on Plexiglas or Polycarbonate sheets to remove film.)
